Free Portable DVD Player

If you are like me, you get offers all the time from your bank and credit card companies. "Try This Service For 30 Day And We'll Give You A Free Gift!" Usually I don't waste my time. It's not worth the effort, because if you forget to cancel before your 30 days are up you get charged for the service. Well this offer was too good to pass up, so I went for it.

Get a Free Portable DVD Player with a 30 day free trial of Auto Vantage. I received this offer with my Bank Of America Credit Card statement. Well as you can see from the picture I got it. I also called today to cancel the subscription. If you are interested in taking advantage of these special offers here are some tips (although I'm not recommending that you do):

1) About a week after you send in the agreement form, call the company and make sure they received it, but more importantly, find out when your "Free Trial" is over.

2) Use reminders. I set reminders in my cell phone and Outlook at work for 3 days before the "Free Trial" ended. That way I could call and cancel before I got billed.

3) Don't take them up on any other offers, unless you can actually use the service they provide. AutoVantage is a useful service. For about $150.00/year they will cover the cost of towing in any vehicle you are riding in, up to 150 miles, 5 times a year. This would be a useful service if I still had my old car. Luckily for me, my car insurance provides a similar service that I already take advantage of, so I canceled it.

That's enough for me today. I'm going to sit back and watch a movie on my new DVD Player!
